L'Année Hiver

Personal Mixed Media project. I added a spinning heart to the center of a postcard I brought back from a weekend in Paris. The spinning heart animation was created using a mixed-media technique, starting with video stills that were printed and then physically manipulated on paper. These photograms were then scanned onto the postcard and reassembled into a video sequence. In this project, the mixed-media sequence is paired with a chaotic night-time road map, and a repetitive soundtrack of birds and wind recorded alongside the visuals.
The floating sound, shapes, colors, layering, and cross-fades turn this project into a dreamlike sequence, like a reverie in the dead of a cold winter night.
